Ways to Help

We need your help!

We welcome donations! The following are our most pressing needs:

New and gently used household items

Bunk beds

Grocery/gas gift cards

School supplies

Space heaters

Toys

New and gently used clothing

Materials for repairs and renovations at our shared housing location (please contact us for current specific needs)

Peer Mentors Needed!!! The goal of the child welfare system is to protect children and strengthen families. Sadly, in many instances it falls far short. Children are often retraumatized by separation from their families and subsequent instability. Parents may find themselves overwhelmed by the steps required to reunify, and then after their children are returned, find themselves lacking support.

Only 26% of Virginia's foster children reunified with their parents in 2019. When children are permanently separated from their birth families, even if they are later adopted, they suffer a profound loss which can affect them throughout their lives.

If you are a parent who experienced the removal of your children and succeeded in reunifying, we need you to join us in helping Virginia families change these statistics! It doesn't matter what your story is---If you've overcome this challenge, YOU could be just the encouragement needed to bring hope and light to a struggling parent. Please reach out to us for details on becoming a peer mentor in our one-of-a-kind program.

We are also in need of volunteers to sort and organize donations and assist with a variety of tasks at our shared housing location. Please call 757-901-2423 if you would like to help!
